ParentShift Privacy Policy (EN)
1. Scope
ParentShift helps two co-parents share the day-to-day of raising children. This policy explains what data is processed, why it is processed, and how users can contact us.
2. Core data processing
- Household data: household name, generated 6-character invite code, week-start preference.
- Member profile: display name, language, a random device identifier used instead of an account.
- Children entries: name, colour, and optional per-task difficulty profile used for weighted balance.
- Session data: duty, support, and recovery sessions with start/end timestamps and associated child.
- Premium entitlement state retrieved through RevenueCat SDK.
- Minimal diagnostic telemetry and error reports.
3. Data location
ParentShift stores core data on Supabase (EU-hosted Postgres) so both members of a household can see a shared timeline in real time. A device-local cache mirrors the data for fast startup. No email, phone number, or password is required to use the app.
4. Notifications
Optional on-device notifications (handoff nudge after 90 min of duty, bedtime window reminder, weekly summary) use system notification permissions. The schedule lives on the device; there is no external push campaign platform in this release.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
ParentShift Premium is an optional auto-renewable subscription processed through Apple In-App Purchases. RevenueCat is used as a subscription infrastructure provider for entitlement state and product offerings. Payment card details are never received by ParentShift.
6. Advertising
ParentShift does not show ads and does not integrate with advertising SDKs.
7. Camera
The camera is used only to scan a household invite QR code when joining a household. No photos or video are uploaded or stored by this feature.
8. What we do not require
- No mandatory account signup.
- No contact list import.
- No GPS location requirement.
- No microphone access.
9. Children's data
ParentShift is intended for adult co-parents. The "children" entries in the app are labels for organising tasks — they are not intended to be used by the children themselves. Keep the stored details minimal (e.g., first name or nickname).
10. Legal basis and purpose
- Provide app functionality requested by the user.
- Synchronise household data between the two members in real time.
- Support legal obligations around subscriptions where enabled.
11. User rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may request information about, export of, or deletion of your data by contacting support@mcat.one. The app also offers an in-app CSV export in Settings → Privacy.
12. Data retention
Session data is retained for up to 180 days in active households. Older sessions are pruned automatically. Leaving a household removes your membership row on the backend.
13. Security
We use platform-level security controls and best-effort safeguards. No internet-connected system can guarantee absolute security.
14. Policy updates
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest effective date is always published on this page.
